ft86/brz just got another competitor !

http://www.rpmgo.com/tag/honda-cr-z-icf-mugen

1.5 4 cilinder with supercharger and electrical motor
0-62 in only 6.1 seconds ( thats megane rs 250 acceleration people )

This car doesnt look very good in pics but man is it a looker on the road! i've always loved the way it looks and the interior is also very nice! only downside to this was the power.. but that's fixed now

pricing is going to be 24,000 pounds ($37,245 / 27,944 Euros) which is pretty good.

if toyota screws up the pricing on the ft86 i might just go for this ( if it will be available in holland ofcourse.. article only talks about UK market )

what do you guys think?

Meh.

Beyond the fact that it's wrong wheel drive, hybrids are terrible for the environment. I would never own one.

Is rear wheel drive really THAT much better? I mean a Megane RS rapes pretty much everything including alot of rear wheel drive cars..

I guess if u wanna go ass out oversteer all the time you have to go rear wheel but that doesnt make a car any faster ( neither does understear )

And i live in holland where it rains alot.. and i've drove some BMW's which can get nervous when it's wet ( not to mention when it snows.. i've pushed like 4 bmw's last year because they where stuck and had no problems with my FW audi )

So rear wheel drive sure does have it's advantages but don't rule a car out just because it's front wheel drive.

I don't care about the environment all i know is for this car to go from 0-62 in 6.1 seconds it has to chuck out alot of torque and the electric motor helps with this alot! max torque from 0 rpm.

fifth gear tested the original version which is a bit of a disapointment if you review it like a sports car indeed.

However Jeremy Clarkson ( u know the guy from top gear ) had the mugen version of the crz in his latest dvd powered up and was really positive about it.

you know the FWD Integra Type R back in the day was owning alot of RWD and 4WD rally type cars. Im not saying the CRZ is that good of a car but I wouldn't underestimate a FWD sports car with good weight and hp out of the factory around 200hp.

The only problem with FWD and AWD is that you cannot drift.

EH? yes you can it's just more difficult o_O for example you can drift a Lambo it's 4wd, you can drift a GTR that's 4WD, it's just very difficult to. You can drift a Civic if it's set up right and you know how to do the hand break trick often, google it there's many vids of the 4wd and FWD cars drifting.

Repost. We heard about the Mugen CR-Z some time ago and had a topic about the CR-Z already.

Urban myth about hybrids. -1 old greg

I was hoping not to see that regurgitated, propaganda based, biased, untrue myth again until at least next year.

Edit: Nevermind, need to close this thread anyway. Going to bump the old CR-Z thread.
