Toyota has announced a new race league, exclusively open to the GT86 CS-V3 race cars, that will run within the Nürburgring-based VLN series starting in 2013.

Called the TMG GT86 Cup, the league will run as a category within the existing championship structure, and is likely to have a 10-race season.

To help keep team costs down, TMG along with partner IKmedia will be providing parts and service at the track at discount prices. Entry into the league requires a buy in of €2,500, while a new GT86 CS-V3 car will only run you €45,815, making this a pretty cheap way to get into racing. Buying in to the league also comes with a TMG GT86 Cup-branded race suit, VIP hospitality packages, and a chance to win up prizes.

“This is exciting news for TMG and fans of endurance racing. Thanks to the VLN organisation, Toyota Motor Europe and IKmedia for their support and assistance in establishing this new TMG GT86 Cup,” said Yoshiaki Kinoshita, TMG President.

Wonder what changes have been made to the GT86 CS-V3 car. Wheels/tires, roll cage and stripped interior? Suspension?
