TechStream Error Code B14A1
I just got my Chinese TechStream from ebay and hooked up to my BRZ Limited to adjust a couple of settings. I did a diagnostics and I got a B14A1 Open in Solar Sensor Circuit for my AC unit. I assume this ups the AC when there is a lot of sun going into the car. Has anyone else seen this error code on their BRZ with TechStream?
It is going to be interesting explaining to the dealer how I know about a code that only someone with TechStream would know about. Torque did not show this code. |

Since you're using the knockoff cable I'm not sure I would trust this. They're not all that reliable, and do have some compatiability issues. Are you actually having a problem, or just concerned because you got the error?

Yeah, it could be the cable, but everything else is working as normal with the TechStream software and cable. I had noticed when I first got the car during summer that it always felt like the AC system was blowing air hotter than it should. Now I think I know why. I will have the dealer check it out the next time I have it in for something else.

Yes, I have seen it as well. From a little research it's nothing to worry about.
http://www.justanswer.com/lexus/1jq9...purchased.html Apparently it's very common on Toyota-sourced vehicles with auto climate control. It's just a nuisance or ghost code. The ECU is registering an open circuit when there is so little light that the sensor reads 0 anyways. Mine went away the next day when I checked again in sunlight instead of nighttime. |

I got this code as well. Thanks for the info, now I know not to worry
Well, if it works, it works. I don't think any cable would start inventing error codes? |

Sorry to re-up, is the solar sensor the same for automatic headlights that is on the dash near windshield vents?

You need to double check a wiring diagram for the car, but they are most likely not the same.
