No really the damn thing keeps shocking me.
I wouldn't normally think much of this because it happens in many cars for me but the other night I get out to pop the trunk and the shock was so bad it felt like it burnt. Maybe bad ground strap?

Anyone else get this?

The material they used for the seats really does seem to create a lot of static electricity. Yeah, it is annoying.

Invest in better (cotton) clothes and ditch those ugly rubber-soled shoes.

Love shocks.

I've actually developed a habit of touching the back of my wrist to the door handle when I get out of any car because I have a tendency to get shocked a lot by everything. Shocks hurt a lot less on the back of your wrist than on your fingertips. If anything, try this to spare yourself.

Honda had this problem years ago in the 94 accord, it turns out Michelin had introduced more silica than natural rubber. Doing so increased mileage and durability, it also reduced costs, Natural rubber is quite expensive. I remember reading that some Toll booth operators were knocked back flat on their arse. Shocked I wouldn't put as far as the same issue. I had the Pirus Primacy on my FRS and this is gone now that I have the Michelin Sport A/S. Food for thought.

That's interesting, I haven't had this problem before.

Or you could just close the door via the rubber trim where the window is, since that's what I do because I also don't like touching the paint either.

And this is what I've been doing. Got tired of it hitting my fingers so hard they'd be numb.

I also have a tendency to hit a passenger with the shock before I get out sometimes which is amusing and far less painful than my fingers getting hit. I had this problem in my last car as well though, just seems somewhat worse in this car.

Can only imagine getting pulled over and zapping the officer when he/she asks for my id and proof of insurance.
