subaru lost me, going for gt86

hello guys

Since April, I had my mind set to get a BRZ cuz I love subaru (had a brand new 03 impreza way back, and now a 07 sti) but I guess my dealer has lost a loyal customer this week (I still love the brz but see why I switch to gt86)

a premium brz here cost 131K Qatari riyals (about $36K, and has no navi/screen or bluetooth.... just a cd/usb player) Since that time I was hoping that price will be lowered yet its still same.

I went to toyota this week and guess what! a fully loaded GT86 with nur aero kit just cost a 115K Qatar riyals ( $31.5K ) which is a roooocking deal for me, and take down $3k if no aero kit (and the gt86 had navi/screen and bluetooth)

I never though I would buy an 86, but I guess this is it anyway they said if I put my down payment this week my car will take 4~7 months to arrive as they only have very very small batches.

So, what should I go for? Nur spec aero 86, or a non aero 86 ?
and since its a great deal compared to brz, the extra money will go for an AVO stage 1 turbo kit, and some RCE yellow springs to kill the wheel gap

what you guys think?
btw, I still love the brz

Thanks for replying mate, the kit is installed in japan and then shipped to me. And yes I can afford (sp?) it.

The kit is awesome (true is sometimes I hate it, but most of the time I like it :P)

I guess it will be nice to have a nur aero kit combined with avo turbo (mini supra maybe?)

I liked the brz because front end is more grown up and seems like a well suited for a man with kids like me. But guess I won't pay that much for a striped one where I can get a fully loaded 86 with way less price (I don't know who did marking plan for subaru here, but he's totally retard )

even for a fan like me, I'm not paying more for a brz where I can get more for less cost from gt86, right

I voted for nur spec. Have you heard the sound of supersprint exhaust for gt86? It would be perfect match for that kit. I love that sound... And isn't that kit somehow functional too?

Tell us what was your decision!

Factory fitted aero kit here comes with that bloody great wing. Lose that and put the TRD spoiler on it but keep the rest of the kit. My 2 cents!

Your aero might be different but if it's the factory one it's probably the same as the one here.

It's the opposite for me.
Ordered a brz because I am confident that subaru aus are competent at servicing their boxer engines and provide free servicing for 60 000 kms.
When I ordered the waiting time here in aus was 13 months.
I have heard that the waiting time here has now extended to 24 months.

go for the aero kit. Seen both in nature, and the kit, specially in white, is just awesome. And the wing really fits to the kit when you see it in nature.

Funny btw that we seem to get here the same basic specs of car, BRZ with only CD, however with alcantara leather seats and the GT86 with DVD, but no leather seats, but the pricing seems to be the other way round. BRZ costs over here 39k, and the GT86 starts at 42k. Concidering the Alcantara seats are another 2.5k for the GT86, the BRZ is quiet good value. Well, however I went for an GT86 with Aerokit, just like the interieur of the GT86 better, and anyways always been a toyota fanboy :-)

Does either come with the HID headlights or fogs? Which seats in the GT86?

Nav system isn't much to write home about.

That said, it's crazy the Subaru is that much more. And it doesnt get the push button start feature?!

So happy to be able to get the car I wanted here in the states. (US).

I'm not crazy about the kit, personally. It's too busy and overstated for a 200hp car. If you get it, get the TRD spoiler rather than that absurd airplane wing.

Latest updates:

I'm gonna put my down payment tomorrow (yet not fully decided on aero or not) but for sure its SWP and manual trans.
Yes it has push start, hid, fogs, red steches seats, and every thing from its jdm sister

And yes, the aero kit is an over kill for a 200hp car but that won't last cuz I plan to shoot for 250~300 whp

Damn, I look at this picture every day

Aero kit is damn good in white
