Joining the winter club

Sooo turns out I can't put parking insurance on the car while it's being financed, funny cause kinda figured that when I bought the car, but with that being said my prelude decided this morning it wanted too be high maintenance. My Uncles shop is so busy I can't get in there to fix it so I ordered winters this afternoon, im just waiting for my buddy to come give me a lift with my rims to my uncles place to swap the rubbers

Funny how now that its not optional I'm excited too drive the FRS all winter

Who has the issue with that? The financer or the insurer? My trade-in car for the FR-S was also financed, and when I told my insurer (TD) I was garaging it last winter and wanted to take off liability, they asked me to make sure with the financer (BMO). When I called BMO they seemed baffled they were being asked the question, as if they had no idea why they should even care.

TL;DR - I had no issues with "parking insurance", why are you having them?

Honestly I am loving my FR-S in the snow. I put on some suby steel rims with continental winter extremes and am making Calgary winter my biotch.

Generally the finance company does not know what type of insurance you carry after you have bought the car and paid for the first insurance coverage. At least here in BC we do not get informed of any changes in insurance coverages (I am in the finance industry).
That being said, if you do not carry correct insurance to cover the loss of the vehicle you would not be keeping up with your terms of financing and I guess they could call the loan; not likely to happen though.
You will want to make sure that if there is any type of loss of the car (theft or fire) that you (and the finance company) are covered.

RBC, I called them 3 times and got 3 different answers to far, Im going into a branch tmr so talk to someone in person, 2 of the 3 times I called there were also baffled as to why I called to ask if I could change my coverage, so I guess its a bit of a grey area for me for the moment.

But Apoc I agree, driving in winter is fun as hell, minus the god dam rocks!
