Car and Driver December issue
There's an interesting article in the December issue of Car and Driver. They suggest one way to be able to drive an exotic was to buy a used Nissan NSX. They stated a 1991-94 could be purchased in the 25-33K range. I couldn't resist. I wrote them, telling them they missed the boat. I bought one for less than that and not only did it have a new car smell, it had a new car warranty and it was called a FR-S.

I think everyone missed the boat if they're sailing on a Nissan NSX. Honda or Acura?

No doubt a Nissan NSX would be an exotic.. I mean.. I have not even heard of it. That is exotic!!
On the comparison. As much as i Love the 86 I would not compare it with a Honda NSX. That car is another type of animal in a higher league! |

Yeah I think their point was probably that buying a used NSX was one way to get a low-volume, somewhat unique (mid-engine, aluminum construction), formerly expensive car for cheap.
The FR-S is great (and I'd take one over a used NSX for a variety of practical reasons), but it's probably not what they had in mind when they said exotic

While NSX's are cool, they are just too expensive, inefficient, and outdated as of right now.
