225/45/17 R1'S VS 245/40/17 RS3'S

I know they are two very different tires but i am being offered 8 very slightly used BFGOODRICH R1'S in 225/45/17 for 380 bucks which is a steal. Now currently i have been running at the track 245/40/17 hankook rs3's. Any idea how a narrower stickier tire will behave? Should i get them for this price?? I have never used r1's so im kinda curious about this.

Any advice is appreciated!!

Those are R-comps aren't they? Anyway, even with the reduction in width they'll be sticker than the RS3's, but they won't last nearly as long as the RS3's. If you're not going to compete on them, and you want to improve your driving, definitely stick the the RS3's. I've heard that R-comps will hide a lot of mistakes that drivers make just because they're stickier.

Holy crap, I didn't catch the two sets bit. Yeah that's worth it, good luck even finding one set of street tires at that price.

If you decide to pass on the deal, PM me and I'll drive out to pick them up.
