Half the price, very comfortable, and probably 60% lighter. Even if they are dealer-installed $3800 for a pair of seats is crazy. Anybody with a few tools and an IQ above room temperature can swap their own seats out at home.

And if you really did want to blow four grand you could get some *really* nice aftermarket recaro/bride/status/sparco/whatever seats for that money.

A fixed position seat will always be cheaper than a reclining version. So not really apples to apples there. Any Recaro is going to command top dollar. These are prolly only a couple hundred more because they have TRD embroidered in.

You could prolly cop a set of Recaro SR's for 1,200-1,800 a piece depending on exactly what version you go with.

The most redunkulous seat that I have seen as of yet was the SP-X for the S/R version STi models. They cost approximately 5,550 US.

Valid point. I just think $3800 is totally nuts. If I'm going to spend money on aftermarket seats I'd rather just get a fixed bucket that weighs 25lbs. The Recaro Poles are dirt cheap compared to a lot of other shit and are honestly more than comfortable enough for dd duties even if they are fixed-back.

Does anybody know if these TRD seats are totally Toyota-designed or if they are re-branded from somewhere else? I was poking around but I don't see anything that looks like them.

Looks to be a Recaro SRD or the new Speed version with leather bolsters.

Yep, totally nuts. But they are prolly only a few hundy more than the regular Recaro.
