Initial d blown engine

Just got done watching the episode of initial d where takumi blows the 4age. Just curious who has had the experiance of catastrophic failure? My first was in my 92 prelude h23 non vtec. Full exhaust center force clutch aem intake. Two weeks after I gave up street racing I gunned it off the green light hit second hard and my connecting rod in #3 disintegrated and the lower part sliced right through the oil distributor. Second time was in my 89 prelude was heading home from collage classes stopped at a red light. As the light turned green a truck came barreling up behind me so to avoid being hit I launched hard but halfway through 1st #3 connecting rod again went but this time punched a hole in both the front and back of the block. So lets hear it guys.

I drove a 2006 Honda Civic LX that was boosted on 6 PSI, making about 210 whp. This February I spun rod bearing and was never able to replace the engine. Blessing in disguise, 9 months later I bought my FRS.

I replaced my b20a5 in my 89 with a hybrid b21 block with b16 pistons. B18b cams h23 intake manifold and injectors. Dynod at right around 280hp at 11:1 compression with a 50 shot of nitrous. Not bad for all stock Honda parts plus it had a 9.5k redline

Had this sweet 71 Beetle. Special midwest version with see-through floors and plenty of swag, I mean sway from ferrous oxide enhanced frame/unibody rails. Awesome aftermarket sunroof with high test silicone barrier/seal, which provided the weekly opportunity for testing and tuning to enhance the meterological integrity of said seal.

Driving home the old VW from high school, getting ready for another shift of pizza delivery that afternoon, I experienced the meltdown. At the last stoplight, the car went kinda crazy, started to really get a nice exhaust note. I lay into the throttle and experience the acceleration no other VW ever has (insert any VW joke here). I make it about 2 blocks as quick as ever and then the whole thing just stopped, locked up the wheels and I had to push it home another block. Sold it to my uncle for $150 and got to see the engine at the VW shop with all but one cylinder sleeve removed; when you grabbed that one to pull it off the block the whole crank rotating assembly moved with it, solidly.

Then of course, we just blew up two camry motors in the mr2 lemons car, what a summer.

Eric G

Oh yeah, in both cases, when I put in the new motor, I had to upgrade my tachometer.
