I've heard they are bumping the speed limit up to 85 sometime, does anyone have any information on this one? I would like to know because i travel between Sulphur LA to Houston and going faster would really cut down on my drive time know what i mean

They've been saying that for a long time...Realistically, I doubt it'll happen or stay that way for long. There's alot of drivers who would be going 100+ just to be moving faster than everyone else if they were going 80

Given that stretches of I-10 are the deadliest stretches of road in the US, I really doubt they'll raise the speed limit. People already go 85 anyways (at least in most of Arizona) and the cops don't seem to care until you hit 90+.

From the looks of this: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/09/11/us...land.html?_r=0 at least part of your drive will be at 85MPH legally at some point in the future.
