Noise in front deck area

So long story short. I'm getting a rattle every time I drive on a uneven or bumpy road and it seems to be somewhere near the front part of the car, more specifically under the front deck. Does anyone know a fix to this its getting pretty irritating its sounds like something is loose.

I get the same thing sometimes. I can't figure out exactly where it's coming from either. My best guess would be somewhere around the gauges.

Yeah, I'm getting an intermittent rattle from the AC control unit, rattle from the center AC vents and driver vent. I also get a shifter rattle above 4.5k rpm. Not to mention the rear deck popping.

I am so disappointed in the amount of squeaks and rattles from this car. We just recently sold our '03 Toyota Matrix XRS and even at time of sale it didn't make nearly as much noise as this car. Oh well, time for another visit to the dealer.

Sorry for not being specific enough. The sound seems to be coming somewhere behind the gauges and audio deck. I'm pretty positive that something is loose as the noise does not occur when i'm driving on relatively smooth road, but once I arrive at (rougher) roads you can hear something shaking.

Driving this car gives me the tendency to blast music so I can avoid getting irritated by the unpleasant noises (Crickets sound in engine, rattleing behind gauges etc).

My AC controls rattled as well. I was able to diminish it substantially (but not entirely). If you remove the trim piece the holds the USB port, you can reach in there and feel a plastic piece that touches the dash. I threw a couple zip ties on that to hold it snug.

Also, with that same USB trim piece removed, if you look where the center console attaches via screws, remove the two screws and you'll see two metal brackets. The left one was rattling like no other. I slid a couple pieces of electrical tape underneath the bracket so it fits more snugly against the plastic.

(Picture swiped from Trojan_SC)

You can see the metal piece on referring to in this picture:

There was a rattle issue addressed already it comes from under the car the plates that cover the bottom are thinner then on the japan model but they used the same bolts. It causes a rattle when you hit bumps. They suggest changing the bolts but I would take it to the dealership and see what they want to do about it.

Also, I noticed this week that my hood latch has a tiny bit of play in it. If you push down on the hood gently when closed you can feel it. Maybe this is also a rattle on bumpy roads? I don't know for sure but something I will look into.

I noticed that a little while ago. If the dealer puts up a fuss, it isn't anything that a few O rings can't fix to take up the slack.

Just an update that this rattle started to come back a bit even though I had the zip ties installed. BUT, I had the HVAC out for a mod, and I cut the zip ties hoping to be able to locate the rattle with everything open. The rattle didn't occur, so I started putting things back piece by piece and checking for the rattle after each part. The rattle didn't come back, and hasn't come back in a couple weeks (even though there are NO zip ties or anything now)! So the cause of this rattle may have something to do with the HVAC connectors being loose or something. I'd advise taking out the HVAC and then putting it back in making sure all of the connectors are secure. Worked for me (for now at least)!!
