Water marks, tree sap stains and bug stains without stripping the protectant / wax off? I have xzilon coating but it sure didn't help as well as i thought it would...

What if they're on the windshield?

I'm pretty much clueless when it comes to cosmetic maintenance.

You can try a quick detail spray and see if it will come off, but if it doesn't, you'll have to move on to a bug and tar remover. If that doesn't work, you can try using a clay bar and as a last resort, you may have to use a DA to buff it out. . .especially if they are water marks that have been there a long time and embedded into the paint a bit. In all cases, I would recommend that you apply a fresh coat of wax after cleaning it.

Or you can get opti coat done on your vehicle, since your clueless and all. It's made for people who don't have the interest or knowledge to maintain their own paint plus its better protection then a wax.

Sorry I wasn't trying to be a prick, it's very hard to convey sarcasm over text. My solution is if you use Automotive goo gone, apply directly to a microfiber, dab your tree sap or bug spots. Let it work in for 30 seconds to a minute and gently message out to avoid yourself putting in any scratches. Since your treatment is permanent as well, it shouldn't be removed with this paint safe product. Taking a DA to your paint MAY remove your treatment and void your paint warranty with the dealership.

Yes, but if it's a hard water spot that has embedded into the paint, there is no other choice but to buff it out and reapply the coating.

Right, If there is any sort of etching then I agree he will have to take a polisher to it but Show whoever applied the coating and let them take care of instead of polishing out yourself.

I got xzilon too and also thought it would be more protective, i called our xzilon rep and complained. They redid the sealant... i hope it works this time... but i aint crossing my fingers

water marks especially shouldnt be a problem, but try waxing it.

If xzilon is like opti coat, you can remove the water spots with chemical guys water spot remover. Rinse surface, apply chemical to mf towel or mitt, wipe surface thoroughly. Rinse off completely. Repeat process if necessary.

The windshield is the easy part (which is probably why no one else addressed that question directly). Try a liberal amount of windshield cleaner on your microfiber and dab/rub directly on the sap/bugs/etc. This will probably get it off. If not, help it out with your fingernail. You can also try leaving the cleaner-soaked cloth on the goo and let it work in. Once you've gotten the windshield clean, apply rainex. It's primary purpose is to repel water, but it also helps make sap/bugs/goo stick less.

Xzilon is a dealer installed product. So, because you most likely spent several $100's of dollars paying them to apply this stuff, you should take it back to them to have them fullfill their end of the warranty you paid so generously for. This is covered under warranty. Make sure you read the warranty too unless they avoided giving you one???

Before letting them touch your car, have them inspect it and describe exactly what they are planning to do to correct this issue WITHOUT causing additional headache.

As far as Opti-Coat/Guard is concerned, it's not like some impenetrable layer like some may want you to think. It can still spot, be prone to tree sap and other contaminants. It just damages the coating prior to the clearcoat substrate.
