Some news about the BRZ release in NZ

I was starting to get a little bit frustrated with the astounding silence from Subaru NZ and my dealers Winger Subaru regarding specification and price. SNZ said early on the little car would be in NZ for less than $60K and delivery would be 12/12/12.

I emailed SNZ with a polite inquiry and was pleasantly surprised to receive a call from the SNZ sales manager. Apparently, SNZ had released info last week to the dealers, alas I had heard nothing. I learned during the conversation the dealers sales manager has since last week departed wingers and his promise to 'inform all his customers' was no doubt entirely insincere.....go figure.

Anyway, I was informed the RRP for the 6MT BRZ in NZ will be $48,990 and that only one specification will be available, including alcantara and lots of electronic goodies including blue tooth. The SNZ manager advised the spec would be similar to the high spec model available in Australia (he types as furiously trying to find same).

In other developments, delivery of the cars may come forward. The cars will be in country early November with possible delivery late November.

The driver experience day, planned for 12/12/12 will likely be moved forward also to 10/12/12.

Good news all round.

Sounds like the spec will be similar to the GT86 in NZ then (GTS in Oz).

Still can't believe Subaru NZ are bringing in so few, at least initially.

Yeah I spoke to our local dealer in Wellington and he confirmed the price had come down by 10k, for the first released models. Nice one Subaru NZ

Hmmmm, it'll be interesting to see how SNZ price out the new year shipments.

Delivery has been confirmed 10th December after the track day experience.

Yeah, Ive had both November and December. My dealer wrote me last week with the invitation for the launch at Hampton Downs followed by delivery (finally).
