Turned down BRZ today. Le sad

I placed my order at the end of June and the dealer got the allocation on August 3rd. My car is expected to arrive before the end of the year ( CBS, sport tech package) . I'm okay with waiting but of course want it ASAP. So the dealer calls today and offers me the test drive car (would same colour and trim) with 624km on it. No discount. No extra warranty. I declined only because to me its not worth it...who knows how hard those kms were. Nice of them to offer though...

So would I. As soon as he offered it I was thinking "sweet! Lower price" but he said full price. Totally not worth it. I would rather have the peace of mind being the first owner

yea true. I would wait it out too. You have less than 2 months. That's an easy wait.

you made the right call. 624km, that's not even a new car anymore! why pay a new car price.

I had the same opportunity and decided to wait. IT IS SO WORTH IT! My car had 4 miles on it instead of 61. Peace of mind!

I think it's an insult that they'd try to dump the test car on you at full price. 624km and 90% of that was probably driven by a number of sweaty dudes beating the shit out of the car without waiting for the engine to warm up.

yeah my thoughts exactly. I know not everyone is nice to a car during a test drive.

Subaru in jax is selling a whiteout mt frs with 750 miles for 29818 and won't go down on the price at all. Was kinda funny cause I went there from Toyota with my salesgirl a was about to preorder my new one with and we both knew more about the frs than he did and he was trying to tell us y it was used and more lol. Also it came from and auction and only had a 36000 mile warranty from Subaru.

I would have waited too. It is 100% guaranteed those were "hard" kms. Every car salesman I ever knew when trying to sell a "sports car" tells you to "get on it". It is also a cool feeling knowing that nobody else drove your baby. I picked my car up with 8 miles on it. I think the only driving was shuttling around. I will take 8 miles no matter how hard they may have been over a bunch of crazy test drive miles.

At least you made a decision that you were more comfortable with, and without any regret later. I don't blame you, OP... Way to go!

You think that's bad? Some guy at Sport Mitsubishi & Subaru in Orlando Florida is trying to sell me a silver premium auto with 2000 miles (3218km) on it. Said it was the managers demo car. They're selling it at MSRP. No discount or anything. How would I know if it wasn't kept under 4k rpm? And I wouldn't doubt that they used unleaded fuel instead of premium. Needless to say, I turned it down.
