Birds hate BRZ???

So I think I saw an older (unrelated) thread where people reported birds flying right into the car. And now I've had my own bad experiences: since I've gotten the car, I've had an extremely uncommon amount of bird droppings on it (twice in the past week alone!). This car lives in exactly the same spots as my last car, a Camry, and I swear I only ever had like one bird dropping on that car. What is it with birds and the BRZ??? Has anyone else had any similar experiences?

I think birds LIKE BRZ and they are marking their territory.

Seriously, could it be color related?

They can tell the difference between a beater car and a sports car. Why else do you think they have initialization rituals where they fly dangerously close across the front of your car in neighborhoods? Too bad we don't have the STi scoops to catch em..

I do not have a bird issue but rather a dragonfly issue... They appear to like the reflection or perhaps the gray metallic in my paint and will beat themselves against it leaving small dragonfly spit marks in various directions. This sounds funny, but is actually a pain in the ass when trying to keep the car clean for just one day!

What color was your camry and what color is your BRZ? Oh sorry, I just saw it was the black color right? It's probably super shiny so maybe it'll follow this logic, but birds tend to crap on bright/shiny things because it is too bright/shiny. It hinders their vision, and in order to dampen the reflection, they poop on it. Especially if it's on their daily route.

I neglected to wash my car for about 3 months straight and never got poop on it once. Even with it parked under a great huge tree! Then once I washed it and set it outside of the tree area because I didn't want tree sap getting on it, it got pooped on all day. Walked outside with 3 cannon balls sitting on the roof and two on the hood.

*Looks At Camera With Big Smile* That's why I use Maguire's Carnauba Wax once a month to get that perfect deep shine! *fades out*

birds love my brz. Not so much my legacy.

They can really tell a sports car vs a sedan.

BRZ is galaxy blue silica, Legacy is dark gray.

Lol thanks for that steeloyangster! The shiny theory does make sense. The Camry was that ugly gold/tan color, so that definitely wasn't shiny. But yeah, it does become a pain, especially after a good wash

Flys and lady bugs seem to love my SWP BRZ! Over the weekend I spotted about 5 lady bugs on my car (not all at once) and one made it into the passenger window!

This one hitched a ride from me pretty much to the other side of town. I was intentionally trying to get him to fly off so it was a pretty fun drive...

Can you see him? haha

It is the cricket chirping from the engine that attracts birds.....

LOL!

This discussion reminds me of an autoblog article from a few months ago:

http://www.autoblog.com/2012/06/21/t...oop/#continued

Of course, that data should probably be taken with a huge grain of salt, and it only applies to British birds!

The takeaway? I need a green BRZ!

shit, man, I think you do know birds.... got my first poop bomb today on the windshield (albeit small one) only after 2 days of picking up my car and parked in the same spot at work without cars within 3 spots of me.
