Muffler Delete + Perrin Drop-in Filter

Hello,

So I will FINALLY be getting my first performance parts for my car by Friday this week and the two modifications I wanted to install/purchase is the Nameless muffler delete (or berk), I can't decide on which company, and the Perrin Drop in filter. According to the dyno's provided for such mods, each nets a gain of 3hp. While this isn't much, I should gain 6ish hp and drop about 25lbs from the car. Is there anything I need to worry about in doing both of the mods? I plan on driving around with the muffler delete all the time as well. Please provide me some insight on whether or not you have these parts and if you were able to notice any power gains; THANKS!!

I've been toying with this axle-back delete idea for a while too. I was just about to order the ISIS Performance cat-back system when I came across a sound clip video of a axle-back delete. I believe yours would sound relatively similar to this: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PMM77U4al9Q"]2013 FR-S axle-back delete - YouTube[/ame]

Doesn't sound half bad but videos never do the real thing justice either. :P

Yeah I don't want it to sound too loud and I really don't want it to kill my back pressure so I lose a bunch of miles per gallon. I don't think it will be too loud though, and I really want to get a couple more horses to the back while at the same time making the car lighter.

1st its not loud. At cold start up is when its at its loudest but its not the bad. All the back pressure in these motors are developed from exhaust manifold so thats not a problem. I just went on a trip and drove very spirtedly and still got 32mpg (6sp) so i dont think it hurts mpgs.

What exhaust setup are you running? Nameless track pipe or similar? I got a quote from a local muffler shop to do a dual exit muffler delete including 2.5"dia piping to the resonator for a total of $240. Or $400 for a 80 series muffler plus tips and 2.5"dia piping ..

I am having a hard time deciding between this two ideas...

Here's a nice comparison video between 3 setups. Stock, Nameless cat-back and Nameless track pipe. I kinda dig the track pipe sound. Brings on more "boxer growl" than most the other cat-backs that cost 8x as much.

im just running a custom made muffler delete just like the nameless track pipe. it was CHEAP from a local muffler shop i think it sounds great no need for all the extra weight from the mufflers and if i wanted to i could add one jdm tip and i would look bad ass too.

Sounds awesome, about how much was it? It's looking like the cheapest I can get one for is $125, do you think a local muffler shop could do mine for less? I worry they won't make it long enough and I don't want to bumper to get melted.

I have a muffler delete. Local exhaust shop did it in about 15 minutes for 75 bucks. Mileage isn't affected at all. It *is* pretty loud, but it's not bad inside the car. Just be aware that when you get on it everybody within 2 blocks can hear you clearly. Also idle is pretty loud on a cold start, but it's manageable. I don't feel like adding an aftermarket muffler is worth the weight.

I ordered my muffler delete today. That said, where is the best place to order the perrin drop in filter? I would like to send as little as possible.
