I bought a roll on ebay...about 12"x48". I'm just going to cover the bumper areas.

At the minimum:

Full front bumper
1/3 hood
1/3 front fenders
Wing mirrors
Door cups - my accord had lots of marring and scratch marks from grabbing the handle
Rocker panel - this is the area right in front of the rear wheel. It flares out thus being in the line of fire

Others:
Some say to cover the whole hood and front fender up to the door so you don't see a line.

You could lay some on the bumper sill to protect it from loading/unloading damage

I just had mine done today and I went with full hood, fenders, mirrors, bumper, headlights, fog lights, door cups, and rear bumper applique all in Xpel Ultimate.

I have this as well, VERY expensive...but worth every penny.

i'm just going to do the full front bumper but not the hood. my other cars I've had the 1/3 of hood and fenders covered as well and while it's great for protecting the paint, it's always annoyed me to see the line across the hood/fenders. especially as the car gets older and stuff gets caught in the seam. guess I'm too cheap to go the full monty and a lousy detailer.

I'm having the dealership put it on (technically they're using a local shop in CO) -- slightly more expensive but I can have it included in the financing.

if I didn't do that I would have gone to Premier (they have both NorCal and SoCal shops)

-Front Bumper
-Part of the Hood
-Behind the front fenders
-Mirror Covers

I'm going with a mobile service through Bain at Doza Designs. I've personally seen his work and he does many exotic/high-end vehicles regularly at the shop I work in. I know he has many pre-cut kits already, but I also have seen some custom ones and the lines were very clean and precise. The mobile service definitely makes things easier, and IIRC he's been doing this for about 12 years now. He's not a cheap by any means, but again...probably one of the best I've seen.

I'm getting mine done this week, and have had him do my gf's TL a couple months back also(got the bumper, lights, mirrors). I'm going to do the bumper, lights, partial on hood and fenders, and the mirrors. Main reason for me to look into this is for track days..as every car I've had previously I've tracked and all the front bumpers eventually look like they've been sand blasted by the end of a season.

If anyone's interested, let me know and I'll gladly share his contact info.

Just got mine done today. Took a few photos with my phone, Droid Incredible. I got the whole bumper and lights, mirrors, partial hood and partial fenders. I took one set of photos at the shop and another when I got home so everyone can see (or not see) in different lighting. I got two photos(3rd and last) that show the lines very well, actually better in the pictures than in person as the light was coming off the edges just right.

i did
FULL hood

2/3 fenders

all bumper/headlights

side mirrors.

flat part of trunk where the bumper/trunk lid meet

and lastly DO UNDER THE DOOR HANDLES. you dont realize but peoples finger nails really fuck that part up. so do a small piece there to avoid that.
