Help us join together to give owners a REAL voice.
This message goes out to ALL FR-S and BRZ owners who have reported having issues with the CEL (Check Engine Light). While it's good that we can discuss our issues in forums, I found that both Dealerships and Scion/Subaru/Toyota DO NOT TAKE FORUMS SERIOUSLY ENOUGH. Often the response when we tell dealers or the manufacturer that we have information through forums is that it's all a bunch of exaggerations, lies and hearsay. I think that in order for the Dealerships, Scion, Toyota, and Subaru to take us seriously is that if we put some real names behind our claims.
I have created the Facebook group, "FR-S / BRZ Owners CEL & Problems Group" for us to join and communicate and hopefully bring our problems together and get some REAL RESULTS from these companies. I don't know about you, but I'm very upset that my BRAND NEW CAR has been sitting in a dealership lot with a real defect and we're not getting a real answer or consistent message as to how to fix the vehicle. Not only that, but where do we go in the future if other timing related issues pop up? What do we do if these engines grenade in 100k? These are all questions I feel they need to address to satisfy us with our purchase. Another thing that joining this group will help us with is the constant claim from Dealerships and manufacturer reps is that we all seem to be the "first" car they have heard of. I know it's not true and we need a real voice to prove it. If you know anyone else with issues with Scion/Toyota/Subaru, please ask them to join as well. http://www.facebook.com/groups/frsbrzcelowners/ James |

Hopefully we can get over 100 on this group. The more people we have the more leverage we have for having our concerns heard and addressed with the manufacturer.

I don't know about Canada, but here in the U.S., if enough people complain to the NHTSA, and they open an investigation into these stalling/loss of power/cel issues Toyota and Subaru will have NO CHOICE but to respond...

I don't understand.
I know that a lot of owners have had issues with the VVT-i, but are there people who aren't getting taken care of? Are the dealerships not fixing the issues? I think I've seen threads where people got a fresh motor, Dealerships sending the bad parts to Toyota corporate, Toyota NA reps coming into dealers to watch the repair process ... If the issue is as common as everyone makes it out to be, than I'm sure there will be a recall. I guess my question is; what do you hope to achieve by starting this group? Because it doesn't sound to me like Toyota is taking these issues lightly. Sorry, not trying to troll. Just trying to be a voice of reason.

Does anyone take Facebook seriously? Two thirds of the members are fake, it's essentially anonymous, and it's where Brittany Spears hangs out.
Why would Subaru/Toyota be inclined to trust Facebook over the forums? |

I actually was just at my dealership like 3days ago and I asked them about the 2 major issues (crickets and dips) and heard that yes they were replacing the ecu and fuel pumps but Scion Canada just put a hold stop on these parts. Dealer seems to think Scion Canada is cooking up something or another but have no real info
Also tail lights are back ordered like really really badly
