Window tint: Stock level?

So I have noticed that there appears to be a slight tint in the side and rear window, and before I get further tint, I figured it would be good to know this so I can avoid tickets, or at least make it look like I'll avoid tickets. Thanks guys!

And yes, I did first. Didn't find anything quite that quickly.

Stock windows come with infused solar UV tint... They are "mixed" in your glass rather than layered on, like your average aftermarket tint.

Its green glass (side/rear) as opposed the gray (front). do a search for those in automotive applications and it will give you the tint. only 6 factories make those two in the world, so the info that you find will be accurate to the car.

if i remember, gray has something like 93-96% permeability with vis to UV while green is more like 65-75%. but don't quote me :P

Someone on another forum had the police measure it and it was exactly 90%. So if you add a 35% tint the total would be 31.5%.

The first day I took my car from installing the tint I got pulled over by the police.
Since I knew the car came with some degree of tint from the factory and the minimum here is 35% he installed a 43% , when the police pulled me over and measured the tints it gave him 34%, about 2 weeks after I took it to the police station, they took the measure again and got 36%-37% range all around the glass, got a sticker and a form so if any police pulls me over again I dont have to go through the process again....

Yes. A few owners on this forum have had their window tint measured by the police. It appears the factory tint is right around 90%.

Way to resurrect my thread from 6 months ago

Btw, I ended up getting 20% in the back and 35% in the front.
