proof that this car is subaru through and through (troll)

the evidence is here that shows that this car was Subaru's brain child and they've always built RWD vehicles that are fun to drive because that's their sports heritage philosophy..

yes i'm trolling.

Not trolling but rather stating the obvious. It's transparent that owners are having 1st year production issues.

Definitely. Some of them seem to be a little catastrophic too. I'm sure if Toyota was fully behind this car it would probably be a little bit better about this. I will agree with you there. But you have to agree with me in that if Subaru didn't engineer the car, it would have ended up being a FWD I4 Corolla GTS or something. Doing something very different does lend itself to high risk. From what I can tell SOA seems to be doing an OK job of handling issues.

I do agree that Subaru had a lot to do with the engineering of this car since they provided the frame, engine and drive train. Toyota has already proven they can built any type of performance sports car w/out anybody's help. However, if Toyota never helped with the exterior and interior design, this car would look as bland and boring as Subaru's current lineup.

Toyota wanted to get their feet wet in this project. They can benefit since Subaru owns part of FHI therefore save on the costs yet still profit from sales.

SUBARU built the entire car. TOYOTA designed it. TOYOTA provided the funds (and some parts). for anyone to think this car is not a subaru, is just ignorant.

the story went like this. toyota wanted to enter the sports car market again and they knew they blew at it, since they dropped the supra so long ago.
owning a stake in fuji, they know subaru dominates the market with the wrx/sti platform and performance.

they went to subaru and said hey we want your help with making a RWD sports car you in? subaru pretty much said go fuck yourself, we make AWD cars.

it wasn't until toyota kept up with the project and provided a "demo" of what they wanted using subaru's motor.

it was then that subaru said....hmmmmm ok, let's fucking do this shit.

this is most likely why it took so damn long for this car to appear. the thought was brought up ages ago, i want to say 2008. so yes, it's a subaru through and through...but as a company, they are small. toyota funded it all, but used subaru's thoughts, ideas, and knowledge of performance of the car.

if it weren't for toyota sticking to the plan, this car would never have exist OR they would have comprised on some kind of awd sports car, which would have been awesome, however, subaru wouldn't want it to interfere with the wrx/sti market.
