The Most Beautiful Cars Of 2011

Here's some eye candy to hold us over for a few minutes out of our wait for the FR-S (taken from http://autos.yahoo.com/news/the-most...s-of-2011.html).

Enjoy!

Ferrari 599 GTO

Jaguar XKR-S

2012 Audi R8 GT Spyder

Porsche 918 Spyder Hybrid

Audi A7

Porsche Cayman R

Aston Martin V12 Zagato

2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster

Aston Martin Virage Volante

And we can expect this car to make it on the list next year...

My 2¢:

--The Porsche 918 sure is sweet. It's like Porsche finally remembered how to make a sexy, beautiful car.

--Most Astons are elegant. But not the new V12 Zagato.*

--The Audi R8 is a sharp looking car. Everyone says it's a supercar you can drive every day. But I have never been impressed with Audi's build quality.

--With regard to its front-engine cars, Ferrari has lost its way. They all look blobby. Last week, I saw three 458s in Beverly Hills. (How is that possible? How many of these cars will they produce?) The 458 is a sexy, beautiful car in the old, high way of sexy, beautiful Ferraris. I just wish everyone would calm down and get over this paddle shift transmission b.s. I mean, who wants a sports car with an "automatic"?

--I once saw a tv special on the M-B SLS. It was all about how they are assembled at the factory. Very impressive. But have you seen this car? It's huge. I mean, huge. Think "land yacht."

* Last year, up at the overlook on Mulholland, I saw an Aston Martin DB4 Zagato. Perfectly restored. So pretty! 300 hp in 2200 lb. (approximately). It wasn't until much later that I realized that what I saw _must have been_ a replica, since the DB4 Zagato is super-rare.

^Really? You don't like 599? I've seen 599 in real life and gotta say, I like how it looks more than Enzo... but that's each and their own opinion, I guess.

Few cars in that list I don't agree with are all those convertibles. I prefer R8 coupe than spyder. Same goes w SLS & Austin Virage

599 or 612 or California, they are all too big and ungainly. The 550 was more elegant, don't you think?

Hm... I'll take 599 over 550 due to spec, also I like 599 face more than 550. 550 over all have nice smooth design... but not liking 550's face.

BUT I gotta say, best FR car Ferrari ever made imo is 250GTO. Maybe it kinda reminds me of 2000GT? IDK, but just love 250GTO

Ha! Everybody loves that freakin' car. And, now that you point it out, I can see the resemblance to the 2000GT.

I'm putting my cards on the table: The Dino is the Ferrari that I would choose first. The Pinin Farina design can't be topped, and the power train and chassis somehow came out a lot better than expected for a car that, in many ways, was a second-level priority for Ferrari.

Yes. The 246 GT is the one I was thinking of. The last iterations were ca. 1972-74 (I think).

Yeah, it has sweet design. For second, I thought it was De Tomaso Pantera (cuz of rear design).

Pantera has a more wedge look, more sharp lines. Dino is feminine beauty. Curves.
