Ft-86 Please's Substitute
Hey guys,
Decided I would just make one of these after seeing another member put one up about a supra that he bought as a substitute for now. I have been following the gt-86 for about half a year now, I know not as long as a lot of members on here, and am still kind of new to the car scene in general. Since I still have one year left in school and not nearly enough to afford a whiteout frs, I ended up getting a 1997 miata for now instead since I read that it was a good car in the handling department similar to the frs. This is also going to be both my first manual car and first rear wheel drive car so I am pretty excited about it. ![]() I found the car in pretty good condition I believe except for a few marks and it is clean from mods so far except that it was lowered already. ![]() This is after I cleaned out the engine bay as best I could, but still a little dirty ![]() ![]()

This car will be a great learner car for the FRS...if you burn up the clutch or wreck it (not that I'm saying you will) it won't be nearly as painful as a new FRS getting damaged :happy0180:

@green_comet, your MX-5 is awesome! Is it called a Roadster in Aussie, or is it a Miata?
@Ft-86 Please, looks like you found a really nice one, and definitely good that you chose to learn on this car before jumping in an FR-S! Get that thing to some auto-x events and hone your RWD and manual transmission skills

Good choice on the Miata! They are fantastic cars and you will definitely enjoy it. Do I see some upgraded suspension components? Coilovers?

Yeah the coilovers are pretty new. The ride in the miata is much harder than I am used to compared to my old corolla, but probably something I just have to get used to
