BRZ Nav unit doesn't see phone via USB

Phone is a Droid X with Gummy 1.2.

Via USB it works on my wife's car, but mine won't light up the USB option.

Anyone have the same issue? Any thoughts on fix?

Is gummy 1.2 some kind of third party OS? Not familiar with droids, but my iphone had to be updated to its latest OS before the nav recognized it properly.

Its an Ice Cream Sandwitch ROM.

Thing is, it works in my wife's mustang. The brz detects it as the phone show its linked, it just doesn't "see" it.

My iphone was detected by the nav before I updated but not everything was working properly, updating the phone fixed that. I assume there is something in the bluetooth protocol that was updated with it that the headunit requires to communicate properly.
