Class Action lawsuit for all FRS BRZ

https://www.torquenews.com/1084/new-...er-engines/amp My 2013 Scion FRS blew up and Toyota rebuilt mine instead of an new engine. My FRS failed on me after driving 300 miles to pick it up, it sat at the dealership for a month and I wanted to backup because of the Lemon law but Toyota convinced me in keeping the the car and gave me and 7 years 100 k warranty, the engine failed at 60k. It has been running ok since.

What a joke lawsuit, I'm surprised there was an attorney that even considered filing it.

"Arkansas plaintiff Laura Young filed the Boxer engine failure lawsuit for more than $5 million for her 2019 Toyota GR86, which she purchased used in October 2021. In April 2023, the plaintiff was driving her Toyota when it suddenly lost power, and the engine failed when the GR86 had about 64,000 on the odometer. The powertrain warranty coverage is for 60 months or 60,000 miles, whichever occurs first. The plaintiff did not contact a Toyota dealership, but she says she contacted an independent auto repair shop after her Toyota GR86 sport coupe was towed home. Upon a complete professional teardown of the engine, it was determined that the engine failure was due to oil starvation, loss of the oil film, and excessive wear. Ms. Young's vehicle is still disabled, and Defendants have not replaced her defective engine with a non-defective one, according to the Toyota Subaru boxer engine lawsuit."

So she bought a used car, has no idea how it was treated, driven or maintained prior to her purchase. Did not purchase an extended warranty to protect herself, did not let Toyota know of, or attempt to resolve the failure in any way. And now wants to sue...with a lawsuit filled with internet hyperbole?

Toyota & Subaru's lawyers will have a field day with this one...

Just give up. We've been through it, nothing is changing; this is an issue with technicians.

Yeah. That it made it past 60k miles without issue is pretty strong support that it was not in fact the RTV issue at play.

I drove mine over 230K miles, of which 130K was after the valve spring replacement. It was still running strong when I turned on it.

You may be driving for a while.
