Great idea?
I just saw a Michelin commercial where they show all their tires as being white. It was kind of cartoonish but caught my eye. Got me thinking about plastidipping my tires white. I have an appointment to replace my rears next week so maybe I'll paint them white just for fun. It'll definitely be different.
What do you think? I'm trying not to laugh. |

First tires were white, until they figured out to add carbon for strength.
Also, tires were wrapped in white paper for years. |

Even though plastidip is soft, my guess is it won't survive the first drive because of how much the tire sidewall flexes.

I'd take that bet for science. I think rubber would make an excellent surface to bond with plasti-dip.

OK This is how bored I am. Even though the medication wore off and I realize it was a stupid idea, I did it anyway just to see if it will work. I didn't have any white plastidip but I had black so I used it. I only did one tire as an experiment. After I sprayed it the tire looked like new with tire shine. But when it dried the shine went away. But I had Glossifier and used it. It looks pretty good. Now to see how long it lasts.
Unfortunately it's only a 3 day test. I get new tires Thursday. |
