Drift Battle Between Scion FR-S and Lexus SC430

Sorry if its a repost.

Quote:
Normally, a Lexus SC430 wouldn't stand much of a chance against a Scion FR-S in a drift battle. However, the car you see here isn’t a regular version of the hardtop convertible but a gutted out and race-prepped iteration.
The two specially modified Japanese models met up at the 2012 Formula Drift event in New Jersey earlier this summer.

Sitting behind the wheel of the Scion FR-S Greddy model was 25 year-old Ken Gushi while 18-year-old rookie driver Patrick Mordaunt piloted the Lexus SC430.

Gushi managed to win the aforementioned race though Conrad Grunewald eliminated him in the next round.

Its because when you corner super hard at that speed one corner of the car slams forward and sometimes the corner of the bumper will grab the ground and rip off, thats why a lot of drifters take off their bumper.

A lot of drifters also just have their bumpers hanging by cables so they'll just snap off in case of a sketchy drift, which is better than it being ripped off the frame.

Nice battle though. I've always liked the SC430. I considered it along with the FR-S

I haven't been keeping up with Formula D or D1GP lately; has the 86/FR-S gone up against Daigo Saito's 1200hp Soarer (SC430) yet?

Soarers look like bathtubs. If I had one, it'd be white with chrome fixtures, and I'd drive it around in a bathrobe and a shower cap.
