Exhaust cutout with a large muffler

Hey all. I’m planning on getting some catless headers soon to improve the torque dip (and that subie rumble :o) but I still want to keep it quieter sometimes. I started looking into electronic valves and I loved the idea to have a stock-ish sounding car and flip a switch to a more aggressive exhaust sound.

I was thinking about how it would set up and how to modify my current cat back exhaust and thought about throwing the valve on right after the resonator and have one side of the valve go straight out the back left exhaust tip and have the other side of the valve to go through an aftermarket muffler and out the right side exhaust tip. If anyone has any experience with a cutout or any information I would absolutely love to hear it

In the drawing orange=valve and purple=muffler

Should work. Just be sure to keep the valve as a separate bolt-on part.

I've talked to a number of people with custom cars at car shows with the electric valves(trying to figure out which brand was best), and they all say they burn up pretty quickly from the exhaust heat, so they all just planned to replace as needed to maintain the 2 exhaust options

It’s doable, I did it. I had 2 Nameless axle backs. One with mufflers and one without. Combined them both into one.
