Lopro25's Hot Lava (Velocity Orange) FR-S
I have had my FR-S for 2 months now and haven't started a journal. This post will get me up to date, and I will continue to post new entries as time goes on. Comments and opinions are welcome.
The night I picked her up. Her first photo. Dealer owed me a detail because I drove it off the lot at 10:30 p.m. The BRZ I ordered and backed out of for the FR-S. I felt like such a d*ck. The sales guy wanted to compare cars A couple of many from the first photo shoot all cleaned up for first time. I've always loved the way the gauges glow just before the sun rises or sets, before I turn on the lights... My FR-S with her older sister.... Taillight housing blackout. For some reason I like to take pictures mid-project to go along with the end-result pics. My first autocross with her. Body-Color headlamp housings. Lights off, lights on, and DRL's on. Turn signal housings also painted black. |

Nice! Love the color. Hot Lava is such a good looking color on this car. Like the headlights too.

I really like the taillights, but the headlights not so much... Maybe if I saw a pic of it from further away I might feel different. Different strokes for different folks I guess! I might end up doing that to my taillights; thanks for the inspiration!

Time for an update. Been a while since I updated the ole journal. Not a whole lot going on but here is what I've added:
>SRT Headerback Exhaust with the smallest resonator. It was very loud at first, but has quieted down to just slightly obnoxious. I love it. > Airaid intake. The ass-o-meter did not register a power gain and since I installed this after the loud ass exhaust, the sound was pretty much the same as the exhaust drowns out any sound change due to the intake. Worth it? Eh. I'm sure there are a few horsepower gained, I just can't feel it. And haven't decided whether or not to run the cover. I go back and forth and I think I may as well run the cover. By the way I did remove the snorkel but left the sound tube because I don't care about another tube in the engine bay especially if it adds to the enjoyment of driving, and more sound is great in my book. >I hardwired my Valentine 1, utilizing the spare harness in the headliner. I absolutely love the lack of curly wire on my dash. While I was at it I tucked my iPod cord behind some panels and into the back of the glove box for a cleaner look (no pic). >I installed the Perrin shifter bushing. Eh. Not that big a deal, didn't make a big difference. Maybe I'm just not in tune to small changes like that but I can't feel any difference in the shifts. I'm thinking short shifter next. > Also installed the Perrin crank pulley with minimal change in feel. It's a little more free-revving but there's no telling how much of that is mental. Looks cool at least. > Met up with some DFW 86-ers. Had a blast and can't wait till the next one, hopefully this month. http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18629 > And finally I get to wait until Mr. V. Releases a new file for his tune. Nuff said, just waiting. Next I plan on doing a short shifter and a header. I want to wait to see what headers come around and what kind of power gains can be had. Other than that, I think I'm done for the time being. I've spent way to much money lately and need to tighten up A LOT. But I do plan on doing some social events and meet-ups. Hit me up if you want to drive, even if it's just me and another car. I'm always down for a good drive. Sent using mobile Tapatalk App |
