First week impressions
My first car was a '99 Civic Si, which seems like a lifetime ago now, got me thru college and then some, and have always had fond memories of that ride. I drove the first generation FR-S back in 2013, both the automatic and manual and remember being quite impressed then. The powers that be at the time (now ex-wife) didn't approve, so life went on. Fast forward to now, I heard about the redesign, and when I saw it in the flesh last week, it just brought me back to those prior fond memories. Living in the moment, couldn't say no.
One of my favorite rides to date was my buddy's 2016 Cayman GT4, pure connection to the road along with raw emotion. I feel that this BRZ invokes a lot of that same feeling, albeit slower, which is not necessarily a bad thing. The 6spd manual, low stance, sublime handling, supportive seats, and responsive powertrain make for a confidence inspiring ride that makes going regular speeds pretty darn fun. There are some minor annoyances, the turn signals (I prefer simple!), stereo (lacking mid/bass), cheap headliner material, and cramped rear seat. But the driving experience that this car provides is so much more. Was pleasantly surprised to see the dealer deliver a swirl free finish, all about the little things! |

Nice and CWP color is always good looking under light with the shinny pearl. Now put some exhaust to have a decent sound. I heard Magnaflow is preparing something, but better to check in person and not just by a YouTube video.

2 weeks in for me now, although I've only had it home for 5 days. The car is fantastic, and has been fun to drive even with staying below 4k rpm.
I especially enjoy that when I accidentally hit the voice command button mid corner, and the system asks for a command, a stern reply of "shut up," "get lost," or "**** off" causes it to cancel. Sometimes it is the little things in life.....
