Has anyone added any driving lights to a FR-S or BRZ?
There's just no such thing as too much light. My MINI has xenon headlights, driving lights, fog lights, and a rear fog light. I got the OEM MINI driving lights, but they were more for looks than function, so I swapped them out for a set of Cibie Tango driving lights. They had over twice the usable light at the same wattage. Driving lights work with the high beams, and are meant to throw a tight pencil beam far out in front. They should be wired to automatically turn off when the lights are dimmed. I have no doubt this'll work. I'm just curious how it'll look. I believe in form following function, but there's no sense in trashing the asthetics... Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the BRZ in the pic doesn't have the foglights until after I did the crude 'chop. When/if I get a Toyobaru (BRZ Limited), I'm planning to make sure it can see in the dark! Here's a crude 'chop to show the premise (and the inspiration behind it). Rawhyde |

I don't hate it... I think different lights would look better but I don't know which.

I am not trying for a "rally car look", I'm just looking for a way to get more usable light without making an eyesore. I'll photoshop one with some rectangular driving lights to see how it looks.
Maybe I'm just used to its looks after owning it for seven years, but I think the MINI looks better with the lights than without. |

can you mount them where the OEM foglights would go? that would be the best aesthetically. another crazy idea would be to mount them on the moustache, to avoid the cooling issue, but don't know how that would look... maybe even goofier. but that's function over form.

I have driving lights installed behind the grill. Next spring I will have to figure out something when a big intercooler takes their spot tho

I find the lights on my stock FR-S more than adequate for night time driving. Also I don't like the look.

Seems pretty unnecessary unless you're going to be rallying the car... I don't think driving lights are even legal where I live. Either way, not a fan, really.
How about moving them to the outside of the grille, like on this LF-A?
