3.0 inch vs 2.5 inch

So I had ordered a Perrin 2.5 Catback exhaust back in July. After a few delays, it was set to ship towards the end of October. I just got word that it'll be delayed till January. I was looking to see if maybe I can find an alternative that I liked and it look like the 3.0 inch is available. Does anyone have experience with any of these, how much different would it be? Would there be any fitment issues with my front pipe? (Berk HighFlow 2.5 inch)

Take this with a large grain of salt but I've *heard* that the 3" is a bit / possibly significantly louder. Makes sense to me as you've got 1.44x the cross sectional area.

I will have to agree. I had an AVO turbo with straight 2.5 in exhaust no cats. It was loud but no drone. When I transitioned to 3 inch I had to put a muffler back in the system.
