OEM looking lug nuts? McGard?
I heard the OEM lug nuts are low quality. I prefer stock look.
What are my options for a good lug nut replacement? Where to buy? What is the reputation of White Knight? https://www.amazon.com/White-Knight-...dp/B00B2FCACS/ Last edited by daniloneil8; 08-13-2021 at 09:59 PM. |

I knew the studs were crappy but didn't know abut the nuts. I'm gradually switching to ARP studs after breaking three of the stock ones.

I have black McGard spline drive nuts on mine. They don't draw attention at all but do exactly what they're supposed to do, provide a solid connection to the socket. No complaints at all here.

I went with McGard as well, only complaint is having to carry around a tool in the trunk. I have a spare in case it breaks too.

What's the matter with the stock ones? Do they break? Cross thread?

They cross thread very easily. I think they may be a contributing factor in the stud issues people have. I replaced mine with gorilla lugs and They threaded in much nicer. I had steel Mutekis too but they rusted way fast. Then again here in Florida everything rusts, lug nuts are almost a wear item. |

Start the nut by hand and make sure the threads are clean. Why bother with aftermarket if you have factory rims.

I've broken at least 4-5 of the OEM studs. Went with the autoparts store Dorman brass looking ones and they're fine.

I don't doubt if you all agree that the OEM nuts are weak, and I'm gonna catch flame for this, but...
How do you cross thread lug nuts if you remove them completely by hand and install them completely by hand? I've never had issues with the OEM nuts, I always thread it fully by hand before even using a ratchet.
