You'll need to purchase a Media Mod for the gopro. Rode Wireless mic system would be my go to for your use.

Yah i thought of that but the thing is I don’t think or know if the gopro will sync or appreciate the rode wireless via Bluetooth. If not id have to run a wire from driver seat to trunk which isn’t so ideal to me. I was told to look at the zoom h6 and sync audio and video together as money isnt a issue though that may be a little overkill. the exhaust is the life of the party so want amazing exhaust note audio.

If it didn't work, I wouldn't have recommended it. But you do you.

the rhode wireless mic was one of the highest recommended wireless setups i came across last time i looked into it.

i've only used a 'AA' powered shotgun mic, as well as a sony generic stereo lapel mic. i much preferred the sony lapel mic clipped onto the license plate for vehicle noises. was a little more natural. i had a sound clip at one point, but seem to have lost it.

my preference is to record directly to the camera, as i hate post processing and syncing video/audio...
