WRX Clutch Fork vs Stock?
Being that my FRS is now in need of a throw out bearing, I came across this kit where the seller claims the fork is a direct swap which is stronger than the stock 86 unit.
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/192694423638 https://sixstarbernie.com/i-23188134...1998-2018.html I'd be interested to know if anyone on the board here has experience with this as it could be a good in-between option from stock before the $215 Versus one. Price I see the WRX 30531AA180 Clutch Fork for is only $18 which is nice. I wasn't planning on buying that kit as replacing the whole front bearing cover that the throw out rides on is only $60. From what I can see of the two forks online they're largely similar... not 100% if they're the same length and angle though ![]() The WRX fork seems to be missing the holes for the bearing clips and uses a different bearing 30502AA121/30502AA120 with no clips however, the kit I linked says their bearing is a replacement for the outdated 30502AA051 and visibly has clips on it. Thoughts? |

Get the Verus Engineering fork as it is made for our platform. That would be my recommendation. I recently purchased mine and using it now.

When you replace the clutch fork & TOB, make sure to replace Bearing Retainer as well.

I have this one from six-star on my shelf. Will try it when my TOB pukes.

Thanks for the responses, I messaged the seller and they said it's 100% compatible if you grab a non-STi 2013 WRX Bearing & clips to use with the WRX fork.
I'll update this thread if I end up having any trouble with going this route. |
