I start at Quirk Subaru this week!

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you all know I left my sales position with Porsche/Audi of Norwell to take a new position at Quirk Subaru in Braintree, MA. I'll try not to be too salesperson-y, however I just wanted to say if you know anyone who's interested in a BRZ or any other Subaru who's local, I would very much appreciate any referrals! I am a huge Subie enthusiast and although I don't have a BRZ yet, I plan to have one soon and I'm also a fixture at most NASIOC Boston-area meets because most of my friends drive Subies, as does my g/f (2011 Impreza 5MT). So if you send someone my way you can be sure they're taken care of and not just handed to the next Joe trying to make a quick sale.

Oh, and Quirk has a Crystal Black Silica 6MT Limited in the showroom right now that's available. OK, done with my salesman-y-ness. Thanks guys!

EDIT: Just kidding, I sold it! Thanks

What's Quirk's restrictions on test driving the BRZ? Planet wouldn't even let us sit in it despite having bought two cars from them in the past. I understand that the BRZ is in demand but objectively I can't get too serious about a car I can't actually try. I mean, I obviously want one, but I'm not just going to assume I'll actually like it without a test drive. I'm not in a huge hurry because our current cars are fine. Eventually the wife's Legacy is going to get traded for something though.

Also, would Quirk be okay if I asked for no Quirk badges glued to the car?

Oh and good luck with the new job!

That's good news, someone we can trust that's at a dealer rater certified business establishment.

Good luck with the switch.

I don't know yet but I start tomorrow so I can certainly ask. Right now their BRZ is in the showroom; I saw someone sitting in it today when I stopped in briefly. The trouble is that everyone who buys a BRZ wants it to be this miraculously unmolested car, so dealers don't want people test driving them left and right. I think once the hype dies down this will subside as well.

I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem, but if they don't like the request to take it off, I will personally remove it for you! At least half of my Audi customers requested to take the dealership tag off (for aesthetic purposes).

Thanks!!

Thank you for the reply.

I totally understand the care dealerships are taking with the cars. I'm not running out to get one this instant anyway so I can wait a bit to get a test drive in. I was just curious about what Quirk is doing. Sounds like they're being a little less intense than Planet if they're letting people sit in it at least.

When I am ready to buy one I'll be sure to keep you in mind over at Quirk.

Have a great day.

You mean when we figure out how to tune the things? 'Course not! But I think the technicians can tell when they plug it in...

I have the cable already. Just waiting for the ROM file. Gonna take an image of the stock ROM w/ flash counter.

Not that anything in the tune would cause catastrophic engine failure, but I've had a dealer tell me that my engine warranty was void because I installed a radio and a shortshifter before when I had a valve drop. So I try to give them as little excuse as possible.

Ricky was the one who referred me! I think we may have met once at a Wednesday meet; you used to have a red STi?
