Jackson Racing Supercharger engine build: Stay at 12.5:1 comp?
I'm building an engine for timetrials/trackdays that has a Jackson Racing C30 supercharger on it and intending to run on pump 93. I have no experience with superchargers, and moderate experience with turbos. I want it to be reliable more than anything so I'm building a fresh block and crank with H-Beam rods and forged pistons, along with King XPG bearings and ARP hardware. Since I have the smaller C30, it seems like
1. it makes no sense to drop the compression down to 10.5:1 because with the C30 it's already basically maxed out on the boost/power it can make and 2. it should still be pretty reliable with this combination staying at 12.5:1 Am I correct? Keith |

Others can chime in with more detail but at 300whp range a built motor doesn't nessessarily mean more reliable unless you address oiling issues as well.
AIG has a short block with those fixes. |

Jackson Jr. completed races even won championships with JRSC and stock engine same with Speed Academy. I would just pay attention to cooling; oil cooler, proper ducting as shown below (5:04), and hood vents.
