Corse cat back, a bit loud.

I just purchased the Corsa catback and its just a bit too loud for my liking, I don't want to do away with it entirely because I do love the overall tone.

Has anyone added/changed the midpipe resonator or maybe added silencers to the tips?

Looking for options.

Thanks.

What's the rest of your setup like. In most cases much of the sound can be fixed adding a double resonated Front Pipe or a HIGH Flow cat. If you have a stock Front Pipe then makes it a bit harder since it makes for a quiet set up already.

Not much you can do that I can think of. The muffler it self is a straight through design with their patented RSC tech.
Which is why is has a decently loud growl on throttle but is near silent at cruise.

Personally, I have a Tomei UEL catless header, Tomei overpipe, stock front pipe, and Corsa catback. It's pretty loud lol If it was 5db louder it would be hard to live with, but it has grown on me A LOT. Especially driving around with Spring weather and the windows down. All the lady birds walking are chirping at me.

I'm surprised you find the catback alone too loud since the Corsa is know to be quite mild (when the rest of the setup is stock).

Do you have a video?

I`m not sure about the Corsa. I had the Q300 catback only and it was just a bit louder than stock. The catless headers with the stock front pipe doubled the Noise level.

Op do you run seats up or down? The exhaust is noticeably louder with seats down. Some insulation to the back of the seats would probably go further to Isolate noise from behind when needed.

I wouldn't say Corsa is nessesrily mild. I'd say it's civilized, more refined than most setups. Mainly because it was designed to kill drone(on stock exhaust) and shuts up when you want it too. That was my experience running it as a daily setup for two years.

This was from my track day last summer. It gives you an idea on external volume compared to everything else. The sound disappears completely when I release load off the engine.

I am still contemplating slapping mine back on if it doesn't sell by the end of May to a certain Ned Flanders posting MF.

When you are at cruise throttle position how does it sound? Any drone?

Paging Dr. T-Coat! haha

It does drone a bit at around 3k RPM in 6th, but I can have a conversation, no problem. I like it a lot and it just looks so damn good on the car.

I pulled it off and put the stock system back on today, way too much vehicular flatulence for my taste.

I'm going to send it back, are there any other options out there that are a little quieter but a little more aggressive than stock?

Corsa is one of the quieter exhausts you can get for this car. I never thought it was a flatulent sounding exhaust, always find mine smooth. Also no drone on the highway.

Also where do you buy parts where they let you return used and installed parts?

Flatulent? That sounds like an exhaust leak. At no point in my 4 year ownership did my Corsa ever sound flatulent. Always smooth and sonorous.

Its quiet at idle, it drones a bit between 3000 and 3500..

And it's LOUD under acceleration, ANY acceleration.. The sound doesn't match the action if you get my point.

I'm just surprised they don't offer any silencers or anything. I asked an exhaust shop about maybe replacing the midpipe resonator with a different one would help but they said it wouldn't.

It does scream at higher rpms i guess. Just saying if you don't like that you probably won't like any aftermarket exhausts.
