spcmafia's 18 BRZ XA Build

Alright, lets delete the old cheesy text about Need for Speed and dream come true. This is my 2018 BRZ, bought in 2020 and have been Auto-Xing for about a year. Given the modifications, as seen below, the car currently sits in XA. It is tough, specially against cars with higher torque, but so far I've managed a couple of podiums.

Current Mods:

Engine/Exhaust

  • K&N Drop In Filter
  • Perrin Inlet Hose
  • Raceseng Lightweight Pulleys
  • Grimmspeed Strut Bar
  • RacerX Catch Can
  • Verus Engineering Brake Brace
  • JDL Catted UEL Headers (Ceramic Coated)
  • OFT Custome Tune by Steve99
  • ARK GRIP Catback Exhaust
  • Odyssey AGM28L Battery

Transmission:
  • Whiteline Inserts
  • VERUS Pivot
  • Revised TOB

Suspension
  • RCE Tarmac 2s with Vorshlag Front camber Plates and Rear Hats
  • Whiteline Roll Center Correction Kit
  • Whiteline Rear Adjustable End Links
  • Whiteline Adjustable LCAs
  • PERRIN 22mm Front Swaybar (Position 1)
  • Perrin Front Poly End Links

Wheels and Tires
  • Konig Ampliform 17s
  • ADVAN AO52s

Alignment Settings (Autocross)
  • Rear: -3.5 Camber. 0 Toe
  • Front: -2.8 Camber. 0 Toe

Winter Alignment w/ Bridgestone Potenza RE980AS+ 225/45/R17
  • Front : -2.5 - 0 Toe
  • Rear: -2.00 - 0 Toe
Maintenance. Vehicle Purchased with 13,000 Miles.

  • 13K Miles: Oil Change (Motul 0w-20, OEM Filter)
  • 19K Miles: Oil Change (Motul 0W-20, OEM Filter)
  • 26K Miles: Oil Change (Motul 0W-20, OEM Filter).
  • 31K Miles: Oil Change, OEM Filter with Castrol Edge 0W-20 Full Synthetic, and Tire Rotation.
  • 37K Miles: Oil Change, OEM Filter with Castrol Edge 0w-20 Full Synthetic.
  • 43K Miles: Oil Change, K&N Filter with AMSOIL 0W-20 Full Synthetic.
  • 46K Miles: Transmission and Differential Oil, going with AMSOIL for both.
  • 50K Miles: Engine Oil Change, MOTUL 0W-20, OEM Filter.
  • 50K to 67K Miles: As of 6/9/2025. Changed Transmission and LSD fluids at 67K miles with AMSOIL. Engine has seen a combination of AMSOIL and SHELL Ultra Platinum 0W-20.

The next project is looking like better wheels and tires. Very excited about tracking the car at least one time. Originally my goal was to just showcase the car since, remember, you don't track the daily.

Super clean looking despite the monster truck wheel gaps.

This is why I don't have a build thread, my car is a shitbox.

Don't remind me about those gaps haha. I don't think I could lower that car anymore because of how awful roads are where I live. I settled with at least having the tires flush to the body lines with the spacers.

I feel is only right to report this on the journal because I consider myself an honest person. I'm using this journal as a tool to record every modification/event this vehicle has partaken into for future plans such as a sale. Friday, March 12, 2021, my vehicle was damaged by a truck on the parking lot of my workplace. As what you can see on the photos below, the damage was pretty much the front bumper cover, with a small indent on the driver side front fender. The guy and his truck managed to clip the bumper just right with what I assume is tire or rear sensors, ripping the whole front bumper assembly. It can also be observed that the structural integrity of the car was untouched, by this I mean the front bash bar and frame. These vehicles have a fitting issue with the front bumper, so if anything, this comes as a blessing in disguise since a new bumper will mean new bumper clips and all pieces involved. Is just one of those things that as much as it sucks, at least it can be considered that things could've been much worse. I will update once the vehicle is out of the shop.

Initial estimate just came in. Should have the vehicle back on 3-25-2021. Came to about $1600 in repairs. Front Bumper is getting replaced, Driver side markers, and driver side front fender. I'm hoping the shop can salvage my front lip, even thought it's cheap, it's a pain to install and I'm not looking forward to that again.
