C Stock/RTR Brake pad choices

I haven't autocrossed this one yet but I can tell from the street I'll probably want to try something else. I see Sam is running Ferodo DS2500 which is my favorite pad but only available for the front. Anyone else trying different pads and can comment about how it's affecting the bias? Sam's thoughts on just the Ferodo fronts with stock rears? I won't be running any hawk pads, just never had good luck with them with regards to noise and dust vs performance.

DS2500's and even the stock ones (and HPS's) are all "FF" pads. I find the DS2500's have a bit better feel, which I like and that's why I tend to run them when I can. But I can't say they are hugely more powerful (they do take heat better though).

I'd try the front DS2500's and see what you think. If you are happy, great. If you need more rear bite we can see what's around at that time. I don't think a pad swap will get you a whole lot of speed... I did it more for feel and knowing I was doing some track days.

I have AX6 up front, stock out back. Car feels great, doesn't drive hard but when they get hot, they STOP. Ran them for 3 20 minute sessions at Sebring without fade. Ran them at a nightime autocross and they could (and did) manage to engage ABS because the RS3s couldn't get hot enough on the short runs.

Watch my video at Sebring if you want to see how well it worked -http://www.youtube.com/ watch?v=y60TonnOZ-g (didn't want/need it post player in page here so remove the space and paste it in)

Sam - yeah that's what I'm going for is a bit more feel with a bit less pedal pressure. Like you, I don't like a strong initial bite so I can accurately do small brake applications on course. Since you don't think they screwed up the brake bias I think I'll start there. I'll be placing an order once I get my ducks in a row here soon.

Kido - thanks I watched your video but that doesn't really help in terms of understanding feel. I won't be tracking this car I don't think. Good to hear they work well, I have used AX6s on other cars (not mine) and thought they did well.

I autocross it much more than track it and they have great feel, nice and stiff (along with high temp fluid). But if you are familiar with AX6, I'm sure you know this already. Great all around pad if you dont mind crazy dust

Stock pads usually do work for autox, I'm not looking for stopping power, just feel.

This ain't my first rodeo, just my first BRZ.

I have no complaints with the OEM pads. I use Performance Friction "street" pads on my BMW and like those, but I'm sticking with OEM until I feel braking is an issue for RTR/CS.

Does anyone have the part numbers for the Performance Friction Z rated pads?
Thinking of giving these a try!

The dust from the Carbotechs tend to stick the wheels much more than Hawks in my experience.

My Carbotechs are dusting like crazy but I cant say it's harder to clean than my last car's Hawks
