Help!!! LOST Wheel Lock Key
I lost the key to my locking lug nuts and need help figuring out which key to get! I bought a key, but it was too small. I’m trying to remove the wheels so I can replace the brake pads ASAP. I have a buyer waiting for the car!! Any help is appreciated thanks!
UPDATE: Thanks everyone! I took it to my local wheel shop and they were able to remove them! Last edited by isaiah990; 06-04-2020 at 01:51 AM. |

You might consider taking the car into an automotive shop, maybe they can rattle it off.

Any tire shop will have something to work.

tire shops usually have 2 immediate methods of removal.
1. they rummage through a random box of assorted wheel locks that have gone missing under mysterious circumstances over the years until they find the one that works. 2. they keep a bunch of high quality full-replacement-warranty sockets on hand. they beat the nearest size on with a hammer, and then impact it off, discarding the lug, and warrantying the socket for next time. or, if you're me, you buy aluminum lug nuts because they look pretty, they seize onto the studs due to the miracle of galvanic corrosion, and the only way out is to use an air hammer with a splitter end, and split the lug off, like splitting wood... i actually sold the car before doing anything with it.

In the old days, we had to weld a nut to the end!
Really though, bring it to a shop with the intent to buy new ones |

There is a set of tools for removing stripped nuts or bolts. They look like sockets but are meant to be tapped on and then wrenched off. The only possible problem could be the tool wall thickness as these are deep set.
