Bird Pooped and left stain on my Raven :(

So After getting my first oil change I go to my car and find a poop stain on my passenger door. I tried removing it today and it left a black stain. I tried clay-barring it with no success. If anything I'm scratching the paint. What should I do?

Polish and buff it out would be my next attempt - but I'm no detail pro.

Wait till one of those guys chimes in.

I use diamondite bug eraser spray on my bird droppings. It works surprising well actually. I have a white FR-S, and a few squirts of this spray makes the dropping so soft that it literally just glides off my car in most cases. Works great with removing bugs too on the front bumper

How do you spot remove something? I'm worried about little pieces of dirt or rocks in the area that can scratch the paint when spot-cleaning. Do you have to rinse the area completely first to get all the dirt off and then spot-clean the poop?

Did you try blasting off all the stuff with water pressure then scrubbing with a soapy sponge?

I find it difficult to believe that a bird poop would cause a permanent stain so quickly. Birds must be eating a lot of berries.

I had the same problem and asked the same question a few months ago. People gave their opinions on this matter. After a while I just gave up, but recently I did something about it and removed it.. I was going to wet sanded, but my last effort came through.. This is what I did

1) Drank a beer
2) wash car with foam gun
3) drink a beer
4) wash car via 2bm
5) dry the car
6)drink a beer

7) By hand - Polish the stain and sorrounding area with Meguiars M105 diamont cut polishing compound and a Meguiars woold pad. ( I was a bit afraid of leaving swirl marks and fine scratches). Don't be afraid to put some elbow grease on the pad.
8) Optional - I repeated step 6, but this time using a 6" Griot polishing pad and M105
9) Using Griots polishing pad and Meguiars show room glaze #7, polish the shit out of that bird shit.
10) Use Griot waxing pad and meguiars Hi-tech yellow wax #26, wax that shit!
11) wipe off wax

Afte Step 11 , the stain was gone and I was a happy man. ( no swirl marks or scratches and shinny ass hood)...I followed it with another beer.

Good luck to you, I am sure someone else may have a different opinion, idea, and what not... BUT this is what worked for me, AND I am no expert at polishing. I just wanted to share what I did.

You would be surprised. The stain on my hood, would not come off for the love of god.. I left the poop on my car for about 4 hours, the poop had stained the clear coat real bad. I think it's the high temps. that makes the poop dig deeper into the paint.

The reason I am saying to put elbow grease is because I had tried this method once when it first happened, but the first time it only left the poop stain smooth and shinny.

The last time it completely removed it.

I had the same issue, used a little dab of Mothers rubbing compound and buffed it out by hand. Repeat if neccessary and then rewax. Can't see Shit now, Literally!

Let's test this theory. I am going outside to the parking lot and taking a dump on my hood. I will let it sit for a few hours then try and remove it. Hope I don't get charged with "gross" indecency.
