Trunk V-bar, yes or no?

Whhat do you think of trunk v-bars like the Beatrush? Do they worth or are they just a waste of trunk space?

bracing is never "a waste of space" but to what end and what are you trying to accomplish.

I would throw one in for mad racecar looks

but for usabiity? wouldnt a proper 4 pt rolllbar with a cross bar across the rear legs do the same? kills the ability to carry tires and takes away some streetability


Now.. i say all this but i actually looked into doing something like this coupled with a rear seat delete.

If you don't need much truck space go for it.

unless your vehicle is a track rat, I would pass. The practicality of the twins is awesome. This is the equivalent of getting a new truck and mounting a giant tire that takes almost the entire bed. It is cool but only if your car is hardcore enough to warrant it.


.. Would it come with a mustang engraving? That might look strange in a twin.

No. Highly doubtful it is very effective. Looks like it might sorta stiffen where the shock/damper loads go, but isn't going to do much if anything for stabilizing all the more critical (for maintaining geometry) rear suspension pivot points.

The bar itself is too big for the frs gap but stylistically I'd like to copy it.

It'd be fun to mount a laser interferometer in there to record deflection before and after installation. I always consider strut bars in the context of undesirable give in the elastomeric pivots throughout the vehicle.

I wonder if Subaru even went that far.

Edit:. If all you wanted were comparisons, strain gauges on structural components would probably be cheaper and give you more information on what is going on.

Actually, it would be super easy to make a jig to measure directly with a dial gauge. I got caught up reminiscing there for a minute.
