EcuTek confusion
I’ll be going FI soon and I need EcuTek to load my ROMS. I’m VERY confused as to what to get.
As far as I am aware, I will need the Cable and Dongle, EcuTek License and the actual tune (Moto East). Am I missing ANYTHING? I am also eyeing the Bluetooth EcuTek kit. From what I’ve seen on Youtube, I can only switch maps and datalog with this. Is there anyway that I can use the Bluetooth kit to flash, as in tune my ecu with my tuner’s ROM, my car without a computer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

No, but you can use the device with a mini USB cable and replace the standard cable to connect to the laptop to flash.

Some ecutek seller in usa now package the blutooth adapter and deskey, this can be used to flash and has blutoith.
The standard cable kits allow you to log as well. Blutooth adapter can log straight to phone or tablet. But both blutooth abd standatd cable can log to pc Map switching is done via cruie stalky in car |

Moto East / @Xero-Limit has a full package with everything you need including the tune itself that you can purchase on their website. Mike's very responsive, so feel free to direct any questions directly to him.
For non-flex fuel: https://www.xero-limit.com/ecutek-ec...t-wdongle.html Bundle with flex fuel kit: https://www.xero-limit.com/ecutek-bl...l-package.html As steve has said, the bluetooth module allows you to datalog directly with your phone and have some enhanced features/toggles through the app, but you can still flash tunes with it when using a computer and the included USB cable. You unfortunately cannot flash tunes with your phone (yet probably). |

Just my .02 about what I got.
The cable/Bluetooth thingy do the same thing. Just the Bluetooth does cool stuff on your smart phone. One of these are mandatory. (150-350) The dongle usually comes with the cable. Mandatory That’s all you really need if you’re doing it yourself. Now, if you’re like me, you’ll also need Racerom add on. (Varies, 300+) If you want a tune this is separate too. If you get a second hand cable and dongle you’ll still need to shell out for a new license. This is mandatory for second hands. Usually comes with a new one. Depends who you go through. |

The Racerom add on you talk about must only be a charge if you don't get a tune from someone. If you have a tuner the Racerom features will be built in.

Yes the ECU Connect and EcuTeK Bluetooth App are pretty cool. We have added in a few different features you can adjust on your own through the App.
