Another “will not go into gear” post

I purchased my BRZ 3 yrs ago with 44k on the clock. I now have 123k miles on it and replaced the clutch once to the ACT lightweight flywheel package. Did not like this at all so I went back to the stock flywheel and stock EXedy clutch. I was having trouble with it going into gear before replacement and just assumed it was a burned up clutch disk. Since replacement it will not go into any gear but 3rd with the motor running. Yes the clutch is installed correctly, no visible leak from the slave or master cylinder, the fluid has been regularly changed with GL-5 fluid. I’ve read though all the posts about this and never read a final reason for this. I’d upload a video but photobucket refuses to load it. Just looking for a solution, cars been down for two weeks now.

Check your shifter plate. These have been know to get misaligned during tranny work and cause all sorts of issues.

Here is a link to a bore scope video of the clutch movement. I still can not get it to go into gear with the motor on. I adjusted the shifter as the link above suggested also and still no luck.

I fixed it! The clutch disk was binding on the input shaft. After removing and inspecting the clutch small burs were found on the clutch disk. I used a small file and removed the burs. Cleaned the shaft, applied the HT grease and tested the disk and throw out bearing movement. Reinstalled everything and it worked perfectly.
