TRD front lip, fitment off.

I want to get an aftermarket TRD style front lip. I noticed lots of pics with a large noticeable gap between the lip and the fog light trim.

Well it appears that even the factory lip has the gap! Even fitted from factory (rs 1.0). I can't really understand why this would be acceptable. I've seen a few installs that fit perfectly (second picture below) and wondering if anyone has tips on achieving that perfect fit.

Those are two different lips, of course they fit differently.

If you don't want to see that little gap of color just put a strip of black wrap on the bumper before the lip goes on.

The TRD lip in the first picture does have perfect fit. It was designed to have that gap and therefore it is perfect.
That small piece of yellow showing was a pretty common complaint back in the RS1 thread. Most that had an issue just plsatidiped the space in black. Personally I like the little strip of colour since it breaks up the black a bit.

Ahh I see. Still a baffling design decision to me personally but thanks for the explanation.
