memories gone

I traded in my beloved 1991 MR2 turbo in order to purchase my FRS. The MR2 and I had built up a lot of happy memories. After three weeks of driving my frs on break-in easy speed; tonight I went out to some back roads and attacked a few corners... two things resulted... one, I can't shake the grin from my face, and two, I can't remember my old mr2. Thank you Toyota and Subaru. I am a very happy 54 year old man.

in the MR2 Spyder community, it's known as "Permagrin".

Glad to see it lives on with the next generation of sports cars. I had a '92 MR2 Turbo and still have a '00 MR2 Spyder. I still miss the '92T but plan to keep the Spyder even when the BRZ arrives.

The 90's MR2s are my favorite of the MR2s. They're sleek and agile, and such a gorgeous classic design. Poor man's Ferrari, indeed.

If the FR-S can carry on the legacy of that car for you, I'd say that's some serious praise.

onemorelap. Was your MR2 modified? What are your thoughts on the handling differences of the two cars.

Congrats!

You will still remember the MR2, just in a different way. Reminiscing about those days, while enjoying something new and unknown...

The mr2 I traded had a stiff suspension setup and a lot of weight removed. It was a handful, but also a handful of fun. After a month with my frs I can say that this car hands out buckets of confidence. If I entered a corner a little to hot in the mr2 it would scare the shit out of you... In the frs it leaves me laughing. What can I say, the frs seems fearless and fun!

I swore I wouldn't sell my MR2 to fund my FR-S, so I saved for a few more months to cover that. It is going to be SO nice driving something that isn't stiff like my MR2. My back will thank me.
