Plenty of off-brand tires in the factory size on eBay and Discount Tire for $50.

Just go to a used tire dealer and buy their cheapest set, mount/balance should cost more than the rubber.

If goal is to save as much as possible on drifting, imho best way to do it in winter on ice. Good for learning, as due no traction all happens slower, more time to think what/how to do it, and mistakes will cost less. No need for extra power. Minimal tire/brakes wear/fuel usage.
Used tires might be an option .. but mounting them still costs same, and many sellers here put prices on used high enough, relative on how much thread left. As result, imho sometimes makes sense to get new tire of double thread left and drift/drive it twice longer vs used, drivable half the amount for that half the cost. With used tires .. best way, if you have access to tire mounting/balancing rig you can use at no cost. Otherwise, not much gains in using used imho. Unless you can buy them really really dirt cheap somewhere local to you to offset mounting costs. |

Buying cheap tires and shredding them may be more expensive than buying decent tires. There's a good chance that superheating and spinning ultra cheap tires will have you buying more than good pairs. I don't know this for fact, but sidewall design, and tread durability to not chunk/rip off may be worth the investment if you're serious about practice.

Federal SS595, Kenda KR20, Nankang NS-20 are all very cheap/loud/crappy tires. Out of the 3 Kenda is the most popular for drifting in my area currently. Some people complain the federals cup too easily.
