So are we ever going to get a Street Touring class?

I have been waiting to prep my car. I'd like to see a final say-so on where we're going to land. Has anyone ran across this info or have an inside contact? I'm expecting STX but STC is in the back of my head so something can finally compete with those pesky civics!

From what I understand, not until next season.

Trust me...I have been waiting since March..:/ ... From some Friends in the 'know'... most likely it won't be classed until after Nats. That way it doesn't upset the Apple Cart. sooo for now I have been competing locally in STX... I contacted the Event coordinator for the Region I am running...and made the proper arrangements.. I fully expect to know something in the Sept or Oct Fast-track...that gives me a fresh start on Next year.

ST is a basic rule-set..there are minor differences between some of the ST classes... But for the most part you can start your build... I have started my own ST build...and depending on which ST class... there are only minor differences in Setup..

It's mainly the difference in wheel/tires that I'm worried about.

If I recall correctly, STC doesn't allow gear or clutch type limited slip differentials. Only factory viscous diffs. The only real options are STX and STR, and the only difference there is 255 vs 265 width tires.

Unless of course they do something strange and unheard of (AKA the SCCA-type thing to do), and make the twins take out their Diffs for ST classing...

The Diff rule is completely unneccesary though. Just specify factory type. The NOC classing only applies locally, where for National consideration they would have to be placed for classing. Then it's simply a matter of the STAC deciding that car is too much diff, etc. And once it has an STX, STR, STC listing, its done. How many "trouble" models are there? R Package NA Miatas? Which are already listed on the STR list?

Kinda what I was thinking. It's a stock diff, so it should be ok. I'm just tired of waiting to buy stuff haha.
