Site Division
Maybe a moderator can help on this, but why is the site divided into the two groups (subaru/ scion)? Wouldn't everyone benefit from having the sections shared since so much information will be the same?
Not trying to start any fights, just wondered what the logic was in the division. |

Psh, i'm more curious as to why the entire BRZ forum is invisible to my account.

Eh, two different styles of the car, so it only seems right to separate them. Plus, there's already a rivalry going on.
It's those goddamn Subaru kids who have this "Oh, I own a Subaru, I'm better than you." superiority complex.

I have owned 7 or 8 subarus and maybe 10 ae86 corollas. I don't really have a brand preference, but I also don't think the cars are that different. It would be cool if there was at least a general talk section or something so there can be more of a community.

It was split before I was a mod, I'd assume because users requested it, and maybe to stop some of the FRS vs BRZ threads that were starting to happen.
The technical threads serve both though which is the important area IMO.

I personally don't like it. The BRZ side of the forum seems to be much more information driven and a lot less "OMG I just got my FRS here are some pics!" The FRS side is kind of a joke to be honest.

I see a lot of that too. We are creating the vs threads and complexes by dividing the two cars by make. Simplify the site, bring down the wall! I just think a lot more information and friends would come from losing the division. I like reading through the BRZ threads, but I would like to have everything under one forum. It makes it easier to participate.I may just have the wrong glasses on, so take this as you will. |

I actually like it divided. I wander over to the brz side sometimes and see what i'm missing out on. it's like a different world.
![]() All the technical threads are still combined so I'm not complaining. Combining brz and frs sections will be confusing with the sheer amount of threads in each respective section created daily. |

Honestly, I agree with Tanuki, taking the walls down would only bring them closer.
No reason in having the technical forums merged, while the general/photo ones aren't. |

I say keep them divided. If you need info on your cars, that's what the technical forums are for and those are merged.
When it comes to car enthusiasts, you like to be a part of your own "club". This happens with cars of even the same model. Like you get the FC vs FD RX-7 forums. It's the details that make both cars different and is the reason you decided to buy one over the other. Whether it's Performance, Styling, or Cost; those are the details that make YOUR car, YOUR car and it's just nice to chat with those who made the same choice. At the end of the day, there are FR-S owners saying the BRZ has a mustache and BRZ owners saying the FR-S has an under-bite. The division is there whether you like it or not. As for the photos section, I like that it's divided because it's just easier to look through. Both sections are already saturated with "[insert name here]'s FRS/BR-Z" posts and the color compilation threads take up a lot of space too. If they were merged, we would have to sift through 4 pages of Whiteout FR-S's and WRB BRZ's, and another two pages of compilation threads for both until you got to the really good stuff. |

also, keep in mind that in the future, the two model will deviate from each other... at least that is what the press is saying. so it would make sense to divide the car into two groups.
in the future, there will be gen 2 FRS, BRZ and on. so there is no telling if the hardware will be the same down the line. |

Also there is the fact that the frs forum comes first so more people go into it. |
